01
Access

Accounts and profiles

How do I create an account?

Select Register, choose Traveler or Guide, enter your identity and contact information, create a password containing letters and numbers, and complete the one-use security check. After registration, finish the remaining profile details in My Account.

Can I sign in with my email or username?

Yes. The sign-in form accepts either the username or email address saved on your account.

What is different about a Guide account?

Guide accounts can receive assigned eco-lodge reservation requests and may require verification of identity, experience, qualifications, permits or insurance before operational access is enabled.

Why is my account inactive?

An administrator may inactivate an account for security, verification or policy reasons. Contact ND Support with your username or registered email so the account status can be reviewed.

02
Benefits

Membership

What membership levels are available?

ND Free provides basic discovery and community access. ND Member adds member trip rates, gear savings, early access, points and expanded saved plans. ND Explorer adds the highest savings, priority access, Planner Pro benefits, offline-map eligibility, convoy priority and member-only activities.

Where can I see my current benefits?

Open My Account and select the membership benefit control. Your current plan and available benefits appear in a popup connected to your signed-in account.

Are membership discounts applied automatically?

Eligible benefits are associated with the signed-in membership. Final adventure, gear or service pricing must still be confirmed at checkout or by the responsible guide.

Can I change my membership?

Open the Membership page to compare plans. Upgrade activation and billing confirmation must complete before the new benefits become active.

03
Trips

Adventures and bookings

How do I find a suitable adventure?

Use the Adventures catalogue filters for activity, place and difficulty. Open an adventure to review timing, route facts, preparation notes, nearby ideas, available seats and price.

Does adding a trip to the cart confirm my seat?

No. The cart records your intended purchase. A seat is confirmed only after availability is verified, required payment is completed and written confirmation is issued.

What should I check before joining an adventure?

Review difficulty, health and certification requirements, mandatory equipment, transport, weather, permits, meeting instructions and the guide’s final safety briefing.

Can a route or activity change after booking?

Yes. Weather, access, permits, group readiness, equipment or safety conditions may require the responsible guide to change, postpone or stop an activity.

04
Stays

Eco-lodges and reservations

How do I search eco-lodges?

Switch the Adventures page to Eco-Lodges, then search by property, region, setting, activity, rating or price group. Each detail profile includes stay style, amenities, nearby activities, access guidance and indoor/outdoor photos.

What happens after I submit a lodge request?

The request starts as a draft, moves to guide review, then awaits approval and a confirmed total. After approval, you can submit payment details. The guide verifies payment before the reservation becomes confirmed.

Where can I track my reservation?

Open My Account. Your reservation card shows the current status, guide comments, approved total, payment reference and confirmation progress.

Is the ND stay-fit score a hotel-star rating?

No. It is an editorial fit score considering nature access, nearby adventures, local character, responsible-operation signals and source quality. It is not a live hotel-star or guest-review score.

05
Routes

Trip Planner

How does the Planner build my itinerary?

Enter the trip dates, start and end points, group and preferences, then add visits or accept nearby recommendations. The Planner distributes stops across days and estimates activity and road time.

What does Plan Review check?

Plan Review identifies meaningful timing, route, transport and weather conflicts. When you apply an action, the itinerary recalculates and resolved notices disappear.

What happens if my plan is already in the cart?

If the cart contains an older version, the Planner asks whether to update and replace it or remove the cart copy. Once synchronized, the warning disappears and you can open the current plan in the cart.

Are travel times and prices final?

No. Route times and amounts are planning estimates. Traffic, checkpoints, roads, weather, schedules, admission prices and operator charges must be verified before travel or payment.

06
Purchases

Gear Store, cart and wishlists

How does Gear Store search work?

Search checks relevant words in both product titles and descriptions. You can also filter by adventure department, trip fit, delivery range and rating.

What do mandatory, nice-to-have and optional mean?

These labels explain how equipment fits a selected trip. They do not replace the guide’s final kit list, professional fitting, safety inspection or manufacturer instructions.

Can I save products for later?

Yes. Move items from the cart to Saved for later, or use signed-in custom wishlists. Items can be returned to the cart when you are ready.

Are product colors, stock and delivery guaranteed?

No. Available variants, stock, final pricing and delivery timing must be confirmed during checkout. Select only options shown as available on the product detail page.

07
Participation

Community Hub

How do I submit a community story?

Sign in, open Community Hub and submit the place, activity type, title, useful experience, rating and optional photos. New submissions enter the moderation queue.

When will my story become public?

An administrator reviews each request. Accepted stories become visible in Community Hub; rejected or pending items remain unpublished.

Can I react to or comment on stories?

Community cards support Helpful reactions and comments. Keep contributions respectful, relevant and based on genuine experience.

Who owns photos and text I submit?

You retain ownership, while granting National Discovery permission to host and display the content for the platform and related promotion, subject to the Terms and your rights.

ND Compass and support tickets

What can ND Compass help with?

ND Compass can answer questions about adventures, eco-lodges, the Planner, membership, Gear Store, carts, accounts and website features using the current catalogue and platform guidance.

How do I ask for a support agent?

Tell ND Compass that you want a person, agent or support ticket. It creates a ticket containing the available conversation, account, membership and Planner context. You can also use the detailed Contact us form.

Where can I see my support tickets?

Open My Account and review My Requests. Ticket status, the latest ND Support response and update time appear there.

How are urgent or safety concerns handled?

Explain the concern clearly and include relevant booking, payment, location and contact details. The support desk can prioritize, assign and respond to the case. For an immediate emergency, contact local emergency services rather than relying on the website.
